knob size

first off I'm a bloke. Second I was sexually abused as a child. Third I've always been uncomfortable with trust and relationships as a result. Fourth I've always lacked self confidence. Fifth I've over eaten as a means of control and am overweight.
Like most blokes I've always been sensitive to the size of my manhood but the tape measure says I'm average (honest).
Problem is my partner constantly makes fun of its size, even to my step daughters (who are over 18). She knows it upsets me, knows my issues but says it's just a joke so get over it. I know this is probably right (although I don't agree that the step daughters should be involved) but it plays on my inner most worries.
It's really eating into my self confidence but whenever I raise it as an issue it's dismissed as a joke.
What should I do?

It's the behaviour of a bully ..

ElBurroSinNombre · 22/02/2016 11:56

My ex was a bit like this except not on the size of my dick (although she did like to tell me about an ex who was very large - again sort of undermining me).
An example would be continually joking that I was 'tight' to her family and our kids. I paid all of the household bills and didn't have a lot of disposable - whereas she was able to spend what she earned as she pleased - leaving her able to spoil the kids etc. It was really quite humiliating and she wouldn't stop doing it when I asked (or agree to change our financial arrangements). This sort of behaviour is typical of controlling people.
O/P I am guessing that your partner is controlling in some way - I expect she 'chose' you because you are vulnerable - giving her an easy way in to gain and keep control. She may feel insecure that you are now resolving some of your underlying issues, thus lessening her control, and she knows that the knob gag will always work. If she is serious about your relationship she will agree to joint counselling where this dynamic can be discussed and possibly rectified. The other alternatives are to separate as many have suggested or to keep lapping it up (which will eventually prove intolerable).

Shock Totally unacceptable. As for "She knows it upsets me, knows my issues but says it's just a joke so get over it". No way should you suck it up. No way! She really is not a nice woman, she's a bully and a nasty piece of work, and I think you should get rid of her.
Pantone363 · 22/02/2016 11:58

Leave

TheNaze73 · 22/02/2016 11:59

Never put up with that sort of behaviour. Just leave

PregnantAndEngaged · 22/02/2016 15:11

Sounds like emotional abuse to me. She doesn't need to believe or intend to emotionally abuse for it to actually be emotional abuse either. The mere fact that she is belittling you in this way and making jokes about you to others are signs of emotional abuse. It also tells me that she has very little respect for you.

You deserve better.. please get out before your emotional wellbeing takes more of a battering and you're left with zero self-esteem.

A word of caution to people responding in this thread:

I used to work at a phone sex line, for years and years. We used to get people who would call with EXACTLY this sort of "dilemma" because they wanted to hear women talk about short penises and whether it's okay to have one -- some wanted specifically to be reassured, others loved being humiliated.

If this bloke comes back and starts telling us measurements and/or seems to be begging for either reassurance about his manhood or trying to get others to join in the laughter coming his way, please ignore him and don't respond. All my alarm bells say that this is a man trying to get something for free that he'd normally have to pay to chat them up about.

ravenmum · 22/02/2016 15:19

Does she do anything to make you feel happy?

RainbowDashed · 22/02/2016 15:21

WombOfOnesOwn, I was thinking exactly that.

Buzzardbird · 22/02/2016 16:32

Your penis isn't really your knob though is it? Or is it your knob she is ridiculing?

WombOfOnesOwn · 22/02/2016 16:39

My bet:

he left this little bit about how with a tape measure, he's "average." So he's waiting for just one person here to get curious: "You say you're average, what size are we talking about?"

At this point, he'll likely say a quite small length and girth measurement -- VERY small, in fact.

and then he'll wait for women's reactions. And alllllll of them will be golden to the wanker. The ones who say "I wouldn't exactly call that average," or the ones who say "I'm sure there are other ways you can satisfy your woman," or "even though that's very very small, she shouldn't make fun of you." It's all fodder.

In my experience, men who have actual issues with this kind of thing don't run to big groups of women to have a chat about it. But pervs do.

goodnightdarthvader1 · 22/02/2016 16:45

Good call, womb. Hope MNHQ doesn't delete your valid and informative posts.

MargaretHale · 22/02/2016 16:47

I am SO confused by Buzzardbird's post.

Buzzardbird · 22/02/2016 16:52

I do apologize Margaret, I was thinking out loud. The title of the post is Knobsize and then he appears to be talking about his penis (I think). To me, they are two different things.

ravenmum · 22/02/2016 16:55

If a knob is not a penis, what is it?

FarinaHuevos · 22/02/2016 16:59

YY to what Womb's saying.
We've also had 'women' post here about their DP/DH's small size and asking questions about what's average etc. There was a spate of posts like that last year, all from a different OP (allegedly).

Buzzardbird · 22/02/2016 17:01

I won't answer on here raven due to the warnings.

violettahatesoperatta · 22/02/2016 17:05

Good call there womb and echos my experience too.

Waiting and watching.

Buzzard I think they are the same. Although confusingly I have also seen it spelt 'nob'.

ravenmum · 22/02/2016 17:08

the mind boggles ...

To me, your nob is your head, as in "use your nob", though thinking about it that could get a bit confusing if spoken out loud!

Buzzardbird · 22/02/2016 17:10
Grin
Buzzardbird · 22/02/2016 17:12

Without being too descriptive. The knob of the penis is the helmet. (knob shaped) as these can be all sizes I was confused what the OP was worrying about.

MoominPie22 · 22/02/2016 17:21

So this is another loser thread? Funnily enough I only clicked on it to see if it was real. Alarm bells going off at just the title alone! My Troll radar is almost complete Smile Mwahahahaha!!!
