Just wanted to get this off my chest - my husband works as an entertainer so all his work is in the evenings and weekends. During the day he spends all his time in his office doing admin, calling contacts to find more work, etc, etc.

Christmas is his busiest time so for the next few weeks I'm basically a single mum looking after DS (3 months old) on my own as DH is working every evening and weekend.

Just got really upset about it today - I know its not the end of the world and I'm very lucky in lots of ways. But sometimes I just wish DH had a 'normal' job so I knew he'd be around in the evenings. As it is I just have to sit in on my own knowing that everyone else is probably out at christmas parties!

Anyway, there's no answer - can't do much about it - just wanted to have a little rant to make me feel better!

yellow - my DD is 3 months too and DH works long hours in the city, He is around at weekends but evenings can be hard, he may see DD for mins in the morning and she is in bed when he get's home, he now makes sure there are 2 evenings a week he get's home for her bath and bed - and this usually happens but if he is meeting a client then forget it....and with Christmas approaching it's client dinner city!!! so just wanted to let you know you are not alone!!!

Never fun. Can you get him to take a little time off in the day (when everyone else is at work, hungover) and have yourselves a Christmas lunch?

Or have a date in the bath in the early hours - or (and you know things are busy when this happens) a sleep date. Unconscious quality time! [ironic emoticon]

I know where you're coming from - our calendar looks like a Jackson Pollock this month...

Ooh, a sleep date sounds good. And I don't even need to bother putting on a posh frock!

Thanks for your comments - made me feel slightly better about spending the last two hours on the computer before going to bed (what an exciting life I lead!)
