Obv this is 'notmyusualusername', am regualr poster, nto a troll.... have change cos am a bit embarassed and incase dp checks...

Have been with dp for 6 years. have 2 children. we are mostly happy - ups n downs, petty arguments etc...

I have started having panic attacks during sex. Has happened 4 times.

Cannot think of anything that has triggered this.

i just start to feel panicy, claustraphobic and kinda freak out, followed by hysterical crying for about 10 minutes, followed by numbness...

I love my dp and am not really sure whats going on.

Sounds like there is something you are afraid of. Sorry to pry but is there anything in your past that has happened to you that could have resurfaced and be affecting you now?

notmyusualusername · 18/11/2006 19:41

Nothing i can remember!

Do you have panic attacks at other times - is it part of a general anxiety problem or just during sex?

I'd recommend that you see the GP and ask for some psycho-sexual counselling before this gets worse or causes problems with your relationship. It might feel a bit embarrassing but it would help you get to the bottom of the problem.

notmyusualusername · 18/11/2006 19:56

yeah, was kinda hoping it would all go away....

have changed bcp in last three months. can a pill be responsible for this?

It's not something I've ever seen listed as a side-effect. Have a word with the GP, he might change the brand if he thinks it's a possibility.
