Support for Grandparents

Is there a support group for abandoned grandparents out there anywhere? I seem to remember that there's some kind of mediation group but google's not throwing anything up for me.

A friend of mine has recently had all contact with her grandson cut off by her son's ex-gf. She knows she has no legal rights as a grandparent, so is being active by helping her son put together his legal case to get his contact restored.

Has anyone got any idea of a website or support group she can get in touch with?

also i heard grandparents do have some rights to see their grandchildren, but it is recently that it should be coming in, so she may want to see citizens advice or a solicitor who may be able to give her more info

The CAFCASS website has lots of useful links for families inc. grandparents here

Thanks for these. Someone's just e-mailed me with this as well, which is useful if anyone else has a similar problem.

I have always thought the Children's Charter does give some grandparental rights?
