I have one DS who will be 2 years once me of OH are married
Plus I am PG and the baby should be around 7/8 months.
I really don't want to fly with the young kiddies! And I don't want to leave them so does any one have a good idea where to go in the UK?

My OH suggested Centre Parcs but I'm not sure...

Please help,
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

Why not have a look at one of the posher, family-oriented hotels on the South Coast, Devon or Cornwall? Tregenna Castle Resort in St Ives, for example. There are quite a few that offer nice accommodation, an early tea for smaller children, babysitting services. You don't want to be cooking meals and washing up on your honeymoon.

Look at Calcot Manor in the Cotswolds- not cheap but has a pool/spa and childcare and babysitting so you could get some time to yourselves as well.

Imi22sleeping · 07/02/2015 20:17

Creiff hydro lodges in Scotland it's lovely and family friendly ,

Donatello68 · 07/02/2015 20:17

Took my two to Bedruthan Steps in Cornwall many years ago. The DC's had a fabulous time and were well looked after. Good for parents too!!

Christinayang1 · 07/02/2015 20:45

Crieff hydro or glen eagles

DollyRocker1 · 08/02/2015 09:00

I've stayed at Tregenna Castle. It's beautiful and frequently used as a wedding venue. But I didn't see any children when I was there.

CogitoErgoSometimes · 08/02/2015 09:28

Mentioned Tregenna becaue some friends stayed there with their 3 DCs (all different ages) and thought it was good.

This is amazing! Not cheap but stunning!

Notexactlymarthastewart · 08/02/2015 09:37

How about a cruise departing from Southampton?

They have kids club activities and night nursery so you could have some alone time with new DH, but still time with the kids.

Just throwing that in there, but suggestion above are good. Crieff Hydro is great.

SnowwyJane · 08/02/2015 10:37

Aw wow thanks everyone!
Some really great looking places! Will deffo have to sit down with the DH to be and go through them!

Check out some glamping options!

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 08/02/2015 10:41

Cove Cornwall are self catered apartments but the complex has a pool and they deliver hot pastries to your door in the morning. Lush!

littleleftie · 08/02/2015 11:23

Bath?
New Forest?
Isle of Wight?

SnowwyJane · 08/02/2015 12:34

Some really good ideas!
Yeah we aren't fussed about Self Catering as my OH is vegan (but eats eggs) haha so a bit difficult to eat out sometimes!

All of Europe is accessible by train (Eurostar), no need to fly at all...! When are you planning on going?

SnowwyJane · 08/02/2015 20:59

It will be end of May 2016 most likely.

I did think about Eurostar but I live in Leeds so getting there with a 2 yr and 8 month old fills me with dread

Luxury Family Hotels would be ace for you all Smile Google Fowey Hall, New Park Manor or Moonfleet Manor to get an idea!

intlmanofmystery · 08/02/2015 22:33

Ah, Paris in the Springtime... But yes understand about the hassle of getting from Leeds. I will leave you in the hands of the many good suggestions here...

SelfLoathing · 08/02/2015 22:49

Can I just say that for a special occasion, I would look into getting a driver and a car? Honestly, if you research it there are a lot of firms that will do good deals - I mean sort of airport/long distance driver firms rather than minicabs or limos!!!

If you are transporting two people or more, it often works out cheaper than other methods - when you factor it in

eg. driving - petrol/airport parking/congestion charge etc etc. or for train cab to station/tickets/cab other end and so on.

Obviously depends on your budget but really worth investigating, a large car + driver to St Pancras and the Eurostar to Paris may very well be a lot less hassle than getting all of you to Cornwall.

trukevoli · 08/02/2015 22:52

I would recommend port Lympne in Kent. amazing for the kids and loads of different accommodation styles depending on need and finances.

it's a big safari so will keep the children entertained and also loads to do in the area!

RosyAuroch · 09/02/2015 09:28

Mull is lovely. Lots of self-catering places there.

We've been twice. I would much rather go back than ever go to Centre Parcs

chaosagain · 09/02/2015 09:36

Check out Ickworth Hall Hotel and lodges and the website www.smithandfamily.co.uk

I think the Ickworth is part of a larger group of hotels so if Suffolk isn't where you want to be, there may be others

FindMeAPixie · 09/02/2015 09:41

Langdale in Lake District - beautiful (especially that time of year) and you could either do the hotel or they have some SC lodges on the grounds - with huge spa baths/saunas in each lodge.

I agree witht the suggestions for s luxury fsmily hotel rather than centreparcs. Surely most can cater for vegans. The only one I have done from the list above is calcot manor took our two year olds and had lovely time. Maybe too far for you, there must be some up north!
