How bad is yours?

My DP gets a lot of grief and I hate how irrational and upset I can get over nothing! Is there any cure?!

I found evening primrose oil helped a lot (took about 3 months to take an effect), as did reducing my sugar, caffeine and alcohol intake.

Are you on hormonal contraception? That definitely made mine worse.

I came off it about 5 months ago. It was fine until this month :( feel so angry for no reason!

Suggest you ask your GP to give you a general health check rather than dismissing severe mood swings as PMT. They can be associated with various conditions including insulin resistant/pre-diabetic problems and nutritional imbalances. As a precaution pay particular attention to the quality of your diet. The latest fad for eliminating sugar can actually be very beneficial for behavioural problems

Lottegirl, I sympathise, I have a once-monthly HUGE blow-up row with my DH because I suddenly find everything unbearable, too much to handle, he hasn't done this and that and the other and everything is his fault... honestly, it sounds sterestypical but it's what happens... and then a couple of days later my period starts and I feel normal again.
I hate it, I hate the irrationality and I hate feeling ruled by hormones, it just feels so ridiculous.
Reducing sugar and especially caffeine does help but I find that hard to do as I have a toddler and a full-time job with barely part-time childcare and sugar and caffeine are what get me through the other 27 days in the month.

You could look up PMDD. I sympathise greatly.
