Just thought it would be nice to have an upbeat relationships thread to perk up a dark evening.

I was putting husbands socks in his drawer and found a little photo album. Assumed it contained ex-girlfriend photos as it was hidden away. Of course I looked. There were such cute photos of his teenage years - bedroom full of remote control cars, daft bike tricks, goofy posing etc. just made me love him more.

That is lovely IWAS.

Earlier this week I got to my oh first and as he had keep my dds birthday present there I decided to look at it again. Its jewellery and he had bought his dd the same. When I opened what I assumed to be my dds box, it wasn't. Its some earrings I said that I liked.
Not sure what I will do at Christmas if I don't get the earrings!

Thank you everyone - I broke my heart when I held the wallet it also had a photo of our 3 boys in it- I put the wallet in the coffin - I felt it had to go with him .

More to do with what I thought the thread was .... yesterday my DH had left his tech at home. He asked me to retrieve an email for a phone number. I noticed he has a folder on his email called "Smokinggnu" when I asked what it was he was embarassed. Apparently it's some lovely messages from me since we started dating. Including cuter texts. Awwwww

Comito · 30/11/2014 22:37

I opened DH's wallet for some reason (not snooping) and found he had a photo of me in it. I had no idea that he'd done this and it was rather sweet. When I mentioned it to him he looked embarrassed and said he liked to have a picture of me near him.

He doesn't know I have a picture of him on my phone which comes up when he calls me.

What a lovely story iwas. So sorry for your loss.

My DH has a zip file on the laptop of all his favourite pictures of me. He doesn't know I know.

ChippingInAutumnLover · 30/11/2014 23:06

Iwasnevermary Thank you for sharing that with us. I'm a proper soggy mess now though, that's so, so lovely and so very sad :) :( I am so sorry you lost him and so suddenly. Life is very unfair xx

Larrytheleprechaun · 30/11/2014 23:35

Oh God Iwas, I am a hard hearted old bastard but that is lovely. What a lovely man he must have been.

DorisIsALittleBitPartial · 30/11/2014 23:55

Iwas that's so beautiful, and sorry for your loss Thanks
DH gave me his wallet so I could use his credit card to book some tickets (so not snooping). I knew he had a photo of me in there but in with the photo was the sticker from a box of Roses. Shortly after we'd met 12 years ago I'd given him the chocolates, saying "you're always getting me roses, so here are some for you". He'd kept the sticker from the box Smile

LadyLuck10 · 01/12/2014 00:03

Iwasnever that's one of the most touching stories I've ever heard.

Op the album is very sweet.

CaoNiMa · 01/12/2014 02:09

After my partner died, I found photos on her camera that were taken on a trip we took with some other people when we had only known each other a little while. Quite a few of her photos were of me, in a Chinese garden, taken when I wasn't looking. It sounds slightly creepy written down like this, but it is meaningful for me to know that she had noticed me at that point. Our relationship took a long time to get started, with a certain degree of angst on both sides, and ended with her death, so it's nice to have those photos - especially because she had kept them to herself and never shown them to me.

ChippingInAutumnLover · 01/12/2014 04:41

There are some lovely, touching stories on here, some right softies in disguise :)

caoNiMa I'm so sorry to hear you lost your partner as well, it's so unfair. But how lovely to have found those photos (and it doesn't sound creepy at all!).

RubMyLamp · 01/12/2014 07:48

DH has a slideshow of photos of me on his phone Blush And a folder on there of "every single nice little thing you have ever said about me/to me/etc" (even before we started dating as we were friends, he was having a very rough patch, single Dad, no job, grieving the loss of his baby son a year prior, basically he felt like shit) and he said I was the only one who said nice things to him Sad about him, his parenting, (he has done fabulously well with a grieving little boy) etc.

RubMyLamp · 01/12/2014 07:50

Stupid phone. He said that the things I said to him were the first sparks of light he had seen in the darkness that had engulfed him 18 months before.
