Advice needed - friend separating from DH. Is there a list of things to do somewhere on MN?

My DF feels trapped in her marriage. She is a SAHM with 5 DC. She is desperate to leave. She can't afford a SHL but has no idea what she should be doing. Is there any such thing as a separating checklist? I've read something about "the cheaters' script" but don't think this applies (verbal abuse does though). I'm hopeful she will join MN (I talk about it enough!) and ask herself but she is worried her DH will find her post. Can anyone help her? Flowers

Thank you for any advice.

It's a couple of years old now, but try this;

www.wikivorce.com/divorce/

Nearly everything there.

Also do: www.entitledto.co.uk/ for benefits

But the biggest thing for her to do is make that decision that however scary and unknown her future is, it has to be better than what she is living now. Once that mental switch-over happens, the rest is just details.

Good luck to her.

Also, she needs to sit down with CAB to get an overview of what she needs to do.

Thank you so much. I will send DF those links. I did tell her that I think she needs to photocopy financial information. Hoping I'm correct? Also suggested CAB but DF said it was so difficult with 2 pre-schoolers. The older 2 are aware of what's going on though.

Thank you both again for responding. I read so many threads (not MN addicted at all - nope not I) and am always amazed and proud at the advice and care shown to posters who feel their lives are falling apart due to ending relationships. But can I recall the advice when it's needed? Probably because I'm usually a lurker!
