transporting dogs in cars

I saw this on Monday outside the H., waiting for my lift, and it's stayed with me. Hope dog owners can reassure me.

Right, a blind man and his working dog were met by his taxi, an ordinary saloon with a fixed boot. The taxi driver loaded the dog into the boot and closed it. It then took a few minutes for him to settle the
man in the car. The destination was 20-30 mns away but this was rush hour, so would have been longer.

I thought that only kidnapped victims were bundled into a dark boot! but is this normal?

The taxi company, btw, has drivers with allsorts of cars, from saloons to people carriers.

I'll bet he didn't tip! I'd have told him to take it out of my boot and get the bus if I were the taxi driver.

Some dogs like the calm of darkness.

Hello this is the real whataboutbob. Firstly apologies to the OP for my family semi hijacking her thread. The last whataboutbob post was actually my husband, I wouldn't be flippant about this matter.
And yes I am really relieved DS didn't chance upon a thread featuring terms such as DTD, LTB, gaslighting and "I think my husband is addicted to internet porn"! He did however love seeing the replies to his posts, but now I'm making sure I log out.
Hope everyone on here has a good day!
