i finally reconnected with an old childhood friend yesterday. she has major substance abuse issues, is very damanaged soul, and is physically ill and frail. I beleive her stepfather physically, emotionally and probabky sexually abused her. Its a mess. she told me a bit but I did not puish it.

I cant help her (other than to be a friend) as I have no expertise.

But I feel in my heart it would do her good to talk about it to somone. she blames herself etc.

am curious to know if there are any expert phone lines that she could speak too?

i dont think its a coincidence that this happended and she has been a substance abuser for many years

so sad

I dont think it will make ti to court, she wont be a very reliable witness with the current situation Sad

if anyone has advice grateful

Would she go to her GP?

NSPCC take calls from adult survivors and are excellent.
