When you and your dh/dp go somewhere together with or without children, do youu walk together - side by side???

Yes! Why?

BudaBabe · 24/09/2006 11:23

No! We start off that way but he has longer legs and always ends up a few strides ahead of me. I usually follow behaind saying "Yes Massa Yes Massa"! and he realises and slows down a bit!

badkarma · 24/09/2006 11:25

We went out last night, we walked side by side, he had his arm round my waist (well touching my bum )
When we are with Kids, he pushed the buggy and I hold dd's hand

TinyGang · 24/09/2006 11:48

No and it drives me insane. Dh just strides off and I'm running along behind like a little poodle.

Actually I don't bother to try to keep up now. He knows it annoys me and he still does it. I give up, but it really bugs me

Seashells · 24/09/2006 11:50

Yes we'll hold hands usually.

wartywarthog · 24/09/2006 11:51

yes. and hold hands if possible he has nice hands...

TinyGang · 24/09/2006 11:52

Why do you ask Jazzi? Have you got one that gallops off, like me?

adozenroses · 24/09/2006 11:57

We walk along side together when we go out alone, I usually link onto his arm because if we hold hands, I feel like I'm being dragged along.

When we're out with the kids, he always walks ahead with dd while I walk slower with ds.

Jazzi · 24/09/2006 12:11

Whenever we go out dp always races ahead, I have longer legs but I hate frog-marching about, and I am usually pushing the buggy aswell. Yesterday we all went out and dp walked ahead the entire time, and in the end I blew my stack at him - I then stalked off but I got lost trying to find where we had parked and dp had to come and find me

We've had numerous 'words' on the subject. Sympathies..it's damn annoying I know.

NotQuiteCockney · 24/09/2006 12:24

Ugh, racing ahead sounds annoying. We only had this problem when I was very pg, and I kept winding myself trying to keep up.

bran · 24/09/2006 12:32

At the moment we tend to walk on either side of ds holding a hand each. Pre ds I used to hold dh's hand as it was the only way to stop him from marching off. He naturally walks 2 paces in front of me no matter how fast I'm walking. We used to have words about it but he denies that he does it. Occasionally I would get really annoyed with following him around and just stop walking to see how long it would take him to realise I wasn't there anymore (anything up to 150 metres, usually about 40).

If we're talking he's ok, it's only when we fall silent that he strides ahead, but we're married for goodness sake, we don't have all the much to talk about.

octavia · 24/09/2006 14:19

Lol tiny gang re a little poodle
generally hand in hand which is great. However I do object to being grabbed by the hand and pulled across the "busy road" as if I was 4!

redsky · 24/09/2006 14:58

No. we always start off together - me holding dh's hand to try and stay toegether but then we always seem to drift apart. Sometimes I'm the one striding ahead and cross with dh for dawdling and sometimes dh strides ahead (usually If I'm helping a child). It sums up our lives actually.

mumblechum · 24/09/2006 15:54

We went for a five hour walk yesterday and I kept getting told off for going on ahead. When we're going up a really big hill, I want to get it over & done with & stop at the top for the view, dh wants to pace himself. We don't hold hands all tha tmuch but every half hour or so we stop for a snog break.

Scoobydooooo · 24/09/2006 15:55

Yes we hold hands or link arms.

Gobbledigook · 24/09/2006 16:00

If with children, often not as we will be 'manning' them (have 3 of 5 and under). We went away this weekend without them and we walked side by side!

Bizarre question!

moondog · 24/09/2006 16:02
