Ideas to thank husband

We have been through a horrifically stressful time of late. My husband has been an absolute star. He is my rock. I want some ideas if possible to show my thanks and appreciation - nights away etc are a possibility, but fairly difficult because we have a baby and toddler. Any ideas please? Smile

Does he work? Could you have something nice delivered to him, like some cakes? Or how about cooking a lovely meal for just the two of you once the children are in bed and telling him honestly how you feel?

You know him best. What does he enjoy or value? What would he regard as a treat? My current squeeze is a mad fan of a particular motorbike legend and if you give him anything related it turns him instantly into a gibbering Gollum... my precious!!! :)

Awh, that is so nice to hear! what is he into?
Can you get a sitter? Go to a concert, a comedy night or out for a nice meal? take him to Laser quest, bowling, karting, shopping?
If not what about something for a hobby or a surprise sports car driving day?
buy him a nice watch, shirt, a good book, CD or some smelly? HTH :)

Ooh motorbike related would be good, he is such a fan of his bike I rather think he'd prefer to be married to that sometimes! Cakes delivered to work is a good idea, thank you.

Perhaps I shall rope my parents in and take him away for the night. I'll see if there is some extreme sports show we can go and see or something. I shall drink wine and pretend I'm somewhere else

It depends what he's in to. My partner works hard all week and his favourite thing to do is get through the door and put on comfortable jogging bottoms and a vest and just relax. So I bought him some really really lovely comfy chill out clothes. I also got a cute breakfast kit (you know the toast rack and a cafetere coffee thing I can't spell) and he loves blueberry muffins - so I made him a big breakfast and fresh coffee and presented it to him as a surprise. Not too expensive - but could see he was touched.

Is there anything that would make his life easier?

His favourite thing in the whole world is his Moto GP 'Buff' snood thing I got him. Presented with a decent steak and a glass of wine on the side and he thought all his Christmases had come at once. (Easily pleased... might be a keeper!)

Ps. Lovely that you have a lovely partner x

Great ideas, thanks ever so much. He is fantastic. I am very lucky, and very guilty of taking that fact for granted at times.

NorklessNora · 04/09/2014 19:23

I once gave my husband a list of all the things I loved about him, from the big stuff to the tiny and even silly. He loved it.
