Just that really. Been on my own for years and years, and now ive met someone.
Hada bit of a crisis and hes been amazing. Tons of hugs, listened, offers of practical and financial help. Popped out to the shops for me for wine and chocs, and has just been lovely.

I didnt need a man, i would have coped without one, and indeed have, many times.

I had forgotten what its like to have someone who cares. No point of this post really, just needed to get it out there. Feel very very lucky.

Glad you've got a good friend.

That sounds heart warming. I'm sure you told him too!
My two DDs have just broken up with their long term BFs and both are single again and coping with life on their own. Suddenly I am hearing from them more often and being asked my advice. This is lovely and I am very close to them but I know that it is because they haven't got anybody "on their side" and that is when you need your DM!

It is lovely. Im not sure my exhusband was even ever as nice, well, i know he wasnt. Ended up crying more and he was being so nice to me.

That's the good thing - you don't need a man, so it's a bonus to your life, not a gap filler. I'm really pleased for you.
