How the fuck do I make sense of this?

First thing this morning, we're all up, teens getting ready for school, doing the ironing, and he's being snippy. Dd starts talking to him about Uni open days and his attitude just got worse. It ends up with her going to school upset, and us having a row about the way he speaks to us all.

We've fallen out before about his anger problem, but he's recognised that he's got a problem and promised to sort it/fix it, seek help but it appears that he's done nothing.

I'm gobsmacked, I really am. He's chosen this anger, this arsey persona over his family. He left his wedding ring & house keys, packed a bag and left saying that he loved us too much to subject us to him, that he'd be back next week to get the rest of 'his' stuff! It makes me feel that he's chosen the 'nuclear' option rather than actually getting help.

I haven't a clue where he's gone.

What the fuck am I going to tell the kids?

I just can't get my head around this, can't stop crying.

Hope you find him - he does need professional help.

He sounds very angry and controlling and blaming everyone else means he cannot deal with or process his feelings normally. He blames everyone else and won't see his reaction as his issue to deal with.

BuzzardBird · 29/08/2014 13:57

Sounds as though he needs more than ADs? I hope you are all ok?

Tapirbackrider · 29/08/2014 16:14

Thank you all for your kind comments.

He's been found and is getting medical care.

Thanks

Fiu. From your post it sounds like he was only treated with psychiatric drugs ater his breakdown and that there was no talking therapy. I always understood that the meds are to complement the talking cure, not a substitute for it.

Bless you Tapir for finding him and getting him the help he so needs.

I guess the nature of this thread may change a little but please keep coming here for support - well, if you find it helpful!

Tapir

What a day you have had Flowers

I hope you manage to get some sleep tonight.

It's a relief that DH is safe and being looked after.

Maybe start a new thread or you'll end up with people only reading your OP and posting re that.

Tapirbackrider · 30/08/2014 16:44

Thank you all for your kind words and support. I have tried to come back sooner but time and circumstances have just not been right.

He's getting excellent care, and all the support I could wish/want for him.

The dcs and I are doing well, and have our loved ones around us. I can only hope this is the turning point we so desperately want for him.

Thanks

Take care of you and your dcs now, Tapir

We're here if you need us ...

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 30/08/2014 23:17

I am so pleased he is getting excellent care and support.

I hope it's a turning point for him too.

We'll all be around if you want to start another thread (link from here though just in case we miss it), but if you don't, that's OK too - you know where we are if you do.

Look after yourself as well OK Flowers

Or if you want to just have a quiet chat on this thread, you could ask MNHQ to move it to the 'other place'.
