So tonight I had to work late, DH and DS1 offered to do the supermarket shop (DH & me usually go together) as I was in work, didn't leave a list but tbh we pretty much get the same stuff every week.

They didn't get 1 single thing for me... Loads of "treats" for themselves and DS2 even sorted a takeaway for themselves but nothing at all for my dinner!!

I said how fed up I was about it and got the reply "well leave a list next time".... ffs .... It's like I'm not even in their awareness unless they want me for something!

I don't blame you for feeling hurt.

Well, you know what to to do when you go shopping next week (and if DH puts treats in the trolley, chuck 'em out again)

"well leave a list next time" is very rude. Don't stand for it. If your DH said that I'd go on strike. If the DCs said it, your DH should be backing you up while you explain they're being out of order.

I do a 2nd shop (different store) at the weekend on my own as it's close to my gym.... Nothing will get bought unless a list is left....

It's my bday this weekend, one of my work colleagues said "hope you get spoiled" fat chance....

So you didn't get any of the takeaway? What was their plan for your dinner then?

HumblePieMonster · 28/08/2014 22:44

I often forget to buy treats for myself...
just think of it as training. When you have them fully trained, they'll remember goodies for you.

My 2yo came into the kitchen yesterday with his welly boots on and my handbag under his arm, gave me a kiss and said he was going to the shops. Amused, I asked him what he was going to buy and he said 'pretty dress chocolate and cake for mummy' Shock

I have no idea where he learned that from but I have high hopes for the future.

YANBU of course, the next weekly shop should be only treats for you and nothing else.
