Text message from colleague

Found text message saying "morning xxx" on Sunday morning from colleague at husbands work who I felt instinctively I had cause to worry about. He had "lost " his phone previous week and let me take mum home in car at night without one now for obvious reasons. He denies any affair but admitted he had let her get close to him by listening to her relationship problems.I don't believe him because I think the text message is far too personal . He has been on business trips with her.I need to know what others think about message on his phone please.

Beccarollover · 05/04/2004 16:11

Anything with xxx would be too personal for my liking

(((hugs))) sorry your having to deal with this

Have there been any other signs

TheCODfather · 05/04/2004 16:12

doh! i thought the xxx was his name!

TheCODfather · 05/04/2004 16:12

whats he releveance of his phone and your mUm's lift?

he borrowed your phone?

Beccarollover · 05/04/2004 16:14

he told her the phone was missing so she wasnt able to take it with her when taking mum out in car - maybe lied about losing it so she wasnt along with phone.?...

bbensley · 05/04/2004 16:14

i agree a bit too familiar but I agree with COD it could be all from her and not from him. Can you tell if he replied?

Beccarollover · 05/04/2004 16:14

i mean alone with phone

CountessDracula · 05/04/2004 16:15

Durr cod, he pretended to lose his phone as feezy presumably wanted to take it with her in case she broke down but may have found msgs -am I right?

CountessDracula · 05/04/2004 16:16

Sounds iffy to me feezy. Have you asked him about it? But of course it could just have come from her...

feezy · 05/04/2004 16:20

My phone out of juice and I wanted to borrow his and we had huge arguement when I got home . He has admitted she wanted more than friendship : he employed her in October and has been on Atkins!! and I suppose more interested in his appearance and occasionally off sex.He gets cross if I threaten to ring her and ask what if anything has happened and says it will jepodise his job.

who has been on atkins him or her?

CountessDracula · 05/04/2004 16:23

Atkins give you horrible breath so that is good

Helsbels · 05/04/2004 16:24

don't want to be a fly in the ointment but I put xxx's on notes to male colleagues just like Hels xx or on some that I have worked with a while I'll put love from even. That's just me and they know it - I hadn't thought what would happen if their wife picked up their e-mail but I don't mean any harm. The difference is I suppose that it would be at the bottom of a work related e-mail like 'fixed your pc - send chocolate love Hels xx'. Might think twice before doing this in future. Hope that you can sort this out - perhaps there is a difference between text and e-mail, have you had any concerns before? Have you met this woman? Sorry not much use - I feel a bit guilty even though I've done nothing wrong.

Fio2 · 05/04/2004 16:25

I would be livid...find out whats happened and put a stop to the closeness IMO

Janstar · 05/04/2004 16:25

I wouldn't text anyone just to say 'Morning' unless I was flirting. I would be very suspicious.

feezy · 05/04/2004 16:25

However he got very upset when I found message.I suppose almost as if he had been caught out and possibly relieved that it wasn't a secret anymore. We had big row in front of 5 year old who keeps saying daddy has got a girlfriend called Sarah! He says he loves me but I think more went on than he is admiting

Fio2 · 05/04/2004 16:28

maybe it has just nipped it in the bud? still would be miffed tho

TheCODfather · 05/04/2004 16:30

Janstar agree that the morning implies a tryst before?

what wa he doing the evening before F?

feezy · 05/04/2004 16:33

saturday night was with me but Iwas knackered and he was keen for me to go to bed.Previous night at work overnight implementing new system.Perhaps he wasn't

OP posts:
Fio2 · 05/04/2004 16:34

I hope not, have you asked him?

LIZS · 05/04/2004 16:45

Don't understand why it should jeopardise his job if there is nothing in it. Does he think she'll make a fuss if she is accused and land him in it - suggests more than just a one sided crush but perhaps he has just put himself in a vulnerable postion by not actively discouraging her? Does n't really make sense and I think you have a right to get to answers rather than him brush it off.

Codswallop · 06/04/2004 12:06

any update F?
