Would it annoy you if your DH said he was going to dress differently because of a woman?

Just that really. They are very keen to appoint a (particular) woman at his all-male workplace. For years he has just worn a t-shirt and jeans but now he says they need to behave differently and he will be dressing more smartly (he's office-based. IMO this would've been more appropriate all along). But because of a woman? Hmm

And yes you do detect personal insecurity, though I do actually trust my DH.

If I was the woman starting the new job I'd be pissed off to think they'd hired a female so that they'd all start being more professional. It means they're going to act differently/work differently because she's a woman. Bit pathetic really.

What job does he do? My mind is boggling.

Oh let them get on with it.

He's probably fully aware that standards have slipped and any new bod is a good excuse to tighten up. That she is a woman just makes it easier to push manners as well as a dress code.

Having been the only woman in what had long been an all male office it was amusing to watch them fall over themselves trying to make the workplace as polite as their Nan's house over Sunday lunch.

Ha ha yes i agree with NOMAMA, the men i work with do tone down their language when i appear that is because im as old as their Mums (almost) .Wouldnt you like to be a fly on the wall on her 1st day OP? ALL of them tripping over themselves in there new clobber and sucking their tummies in.
After a day or two they will revert back to their old ways when they realise she is there for the same reason as them...to work.
As you said you trust your DH,so please just laugh about it.

It really gets on my wick when men I work with apologise to me for swearing.

They really should hang out on MN for a bit, the wankbadgers Grin
