I want to change my name back to my maiden name, can anyone tell me if it really causes problems having a different name to dcs? Thank you:)

I never changed mine in the first place. Only time it has ever been commented upon was at passport control when she was a baby - and I explained. Her father was in queue behind. That won't happen now he's my ex, so we're going to write a joint "permission to take her abroad" letter to which I'll staple copy of my old marriage certificate to link our two names. Just in case.

Before marriage, my sister sometimes got assumed to be a step parent - but just corrected.

Thank you - I was just wondering, I have heard passports can be a problem but as he won't grant permission for us to go abroad it won't be, for now anyway. Am I assuming I need to take birth certificates and my absolute in case anyone asks?

Apparently You can call yourself anything you like providing that you are not doing it for criminal reasons. Your name is legally established through usage. Good luck your Highness. I would shy away from Osama Bin mrsericnorth though.

Oooohhh, the possibilities are endless:)
