full of guilt over taxi journey

dh and i got a taxi today with our dd and the car seat belt didn't fit properly around her carsea, was partly round it but not fully, but ( probably because we were both a bit drunk ,hence need for taxi) we didn't ask for another taxi and took a chance on it being ok. i feel terrible now and can't belive we did something so stupid

the fact you were both drunk in charge of dd is more worrying

anorak · 19/08/2006 22:51

Well you are all home safely and now that you have beaten yourself up about it you'll make sure it never happens again.

So stop tormenting yourself.

notasheep · 19/08/2006 22:51

learn by your mistake, its happened and over now

ScummyMummy · 19/08/2006 22:52

Agree with anorak. Go and have a nice sleep.

fireflyfairy2 · 19/08/2006 22:53

Ach, sure you's are home now safe and sound. Kinda agree with WB though

pigletandme · 19/08/2006 22:53

welshboris - we weren't that drunk, just had a few drinks at a friends house and thought it best to get taxi rather than risk being ove the limit

Yep, you were right! A good responsible adult * can they charge you with being drunk in charge of a pram?* Idylly wondering...

pigletandme · 20/08/2006 09:45

still feeling guilty about it - had dreams about what could have happened

But it didn't happen, did it? Your DD is fine. We all do things from time to time which we later realise we shouldn't have. No-one is perfect, so , yes, stop beating yourself up. I'm sure you are a great mum (otherwise you wouldn't have given it a second thought). Blimey, my mum did a lot worse than not fix my car seat properly. (Actually, don't think we had car seats in the 60's did we?)

LaDiDaDi · 20/08/2006 14:58

I'm sure that what you did put your dd in less danger than if one of you had driven your car, where carseat presumably fits fine, whilst over the limit.

fattiemumma · 20/08/2006 15:01

agree with LaDiDaDi.

your all safe and well, but hopefully you will have leanrned from this.
