Very fed up. I cook dinner and dh goes to his mother instead of coming home to eat with us.
He is home by 7 or so.
He knows I am making dinner.
Am sick of his comments about my cooking, family and friends all say I cook well, including his mum!
What wuld you do?

Is the the one who is from Ghana? It all sounds very familiar

MyNameIsKenAdams · 28/03/2014 14:59

Gosh so basically your home is just somewhere he comes to sleep - id tell him to stay at his DMs.

Justeat · 28/03/2014 17:04

Thanks everyone.
V useful during pregnancy but a PITA now.

Get rid. It's part of a wider attitude of contempt for you which will escalate to further abuse. First thing to do is stop cooking for him, second is see a solicitor and find out where you stand and how best to proceed in ending the marriage.

Hissy · 28/03/2014 19:27

Get rid, I agree. Tell him not to come home, and tell him his dm isn't welcome either.

Hissy · 28/03/2014 19:28

Saatchi refused to eat nigella's food too, so I hear.

To undermine her as a woman, a chef and career woman.

Vile prick.

Justeat · 28/03/2014 19:46

He didn't like the soup, ap ate 4 bowls!
He said chicken smelt odd.
Told him am not cooking tomorrow, cos he doesn't like my cooking.

gamerchick · 28/03/2014 20:07

sounds like a win win to me.. let him carry on and just buy food for yourself.. save a fortune in food bills.

Stop cooking for him OP.

have you posted this before, it's really familiar?

Justeat · 28/03/2014 20:20

Is he from a different culture? My exes mum would make him Caribbean, I was ok with it because I couldn't coin like she did. She also used to send Tupperware for me :)

mammadiggingdeep · 28/03/2014 20:25
  • cook
bebows · 28/03/2014 20:30

Whats the problem? Dont bother cooking for him, saves time and money

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/03/2014 20:35

Don't cook for him then.

I couldn't live like this, it would be a dealbreaker.

Quinteszilla · 28/03/2014 21:06

It is not that you are not cooking tomorrow, you just want include him in any meals. Cook for yourself and your child! Tell him, "sorry there is nothing for you, go to your mum"

Justeat · 30/03/2014 22:18

I didn't cook this weekend, dh cooked basic food.
So fed up with his behaviour generally.

MistressDeeCee · 31/03/2014 00:27

Passive aggressive behaviour, supported by his mum.

If you're staying with him then stop cooking for him. Id take a bet a few days of that, would elicit some conversation from him and then you can take it from there. Thats the thing with gameplayers..when you stop playing the game, they can't stand it. So they'll approach you looking for a way to continue the game..and thats when you tell him what you need to tell him.

I definetely wouldn't cook for him and Im not sure Id even be asked to broach a conversation about his behaviour. You can't teach a grown man to suck eggs, as they say. He is fully aware of what he is doing, and he is choosing to do it. Extricate yourself from the game. & put your feet up.

onlyfortonight · 31/03/2014 00:42

Are you the same OP whose DH won't tell you how much he earns?

It all sound pretty odd. He really doesn't see you as his life partner. There is no respect there at all.

Sorry OP, if you are one and the same, I would be packing his bags and seeing a solicitor. This is no sort of marriage and you could do a whole lot better.

Thanks
CogitoErgoSometimes · 31/03/2014 07:32

" dh cooked basic food."

Nobody would blame you if you'd pushed it away and announced you were off to the chippy for your supper... Hmm Glad he shaped up a little. Make sure it carries on rather than being a one-off.

RomulanBattleBagel · 31/03/2014 07:46

Ugh what a knobber.

BreakingDad77 · 31/03/2014 08:04

How old is he?

Covalone78 · 31/03/2014 10:00

Probably just out of shorts!!

"Men" (and I use the term loosely) like this (and the other types I read about on here) make me so angry. They have really let the side down.

BreakingDad77 · 31/03/2014 13:53

Lol Covalone, I cant believe he got this far getting away with that behavior - is he lying to his mum and saying that your aren't cooking him something, so he sneaks over there?

Is he actually their (sorry)

This needs to be resolved!

Justeat · 31/03/2014 14:17

Thanks everyone.
