I have had a few boyfriends since dd was born and all of them have been as useful as a chocolate tea pot.

When my mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer, boyfriend 1 couldn't cope and buggered off. He then came crawling back, wanting to get back together. Boyfriend two buggered off when I didn't like that he did drugs. Latest ex doubted me as I was anxious about starting my new job and went off. Aibu to want a bit of emotional support?

IMO you need to rely on good friends and family for emotional support. Men are the icing on the cake if you find a good one but you need to be ok without one.

Sounds like you just haven't met the right person yet, at least you're not settling for any old guy. So sorry to hear about your Mum Sad

I have great family and friends but I would like the romantic ideal. Some people's partners really seem to care about them.
