My H has just rung me(YES RUNG ME!!) to tell me that he is not, as he told me, out referreeing a basketball game but staying in a hotel with a "girl from work" who he has started an affair with because I don't love him!!!!!!! Th e f*ing nerve!

Anyone of you who have seen my previous messages will know that this is not the first time and I have had ENOUGH!!He is a complete b***d. Just said it all very matter of fact. I said you do know that this is the end now and he said yes quite happily and put the phone down on me. Presumably gone back to his night of passion.
He has lost his marbles and I don't even care anymore.

So, anyone know a good solicitor? Have seen 1 already but felt a bit uneasy with her.

Would be grateful for any recommendations.

PS Have told himto come home tomorrow, pack his bags and leave. He siad yes fine.

Get a male solicitor, he will be more sympathetic and more helpful.

DH (a solicitor in Sheffield) suggests Nelsons, which is in Nottingham and Derby. Its a biggish, reputable firm and are well known. May not be cheap - don't know if you are entitled to legal aid, etc. but apparantly very good - not just in this area of law.

Just a quick point. If you are seeking legal aid, you may have very limited choice in which solicitor you get. So few firms are doing legal aid these days (due to the very poor payment rates and the incredible bureaucracy involved) and many that do do it are not taking on new clients. Also to qualify these days is extremely difficult. It's only guaranteed if you are on benefits or have absolutely no income or equity in your property. Other than that it seems to be a complete lottery. My sister was turned down recently because she has too much equity in her home. The assumption is that she can remortgage to fund her own litigation. How incredibly stupid.

Don't let him pack, throw his stuff out. Ar$e!

That's funny, Hulababy, it's Nelson's in Nottingham who are doing the conveyancing for the buyer's on our house!

nancysgirl · 29/02/2004 10:48

Thanks for the info-will get in touch with Nelson's asap then.

I know I won't get legal aid as I have just inherited money from my dad. SIL works for legal aiid board too!

After all we've been thru I can't believe this is the end.

Good grief! Really sorry to hear that he has behaved so very badly, Nancysgirl, but at least all that nagging doubt is now blown away. GOOD LUCK, and hope you get everything sorted in your favour. Thinking of you.

Friends of mine have recently set up their own practice specialising in family law and personal injury in Sutton (half hour from Derby). She is absolutely lovely and so helpful. Try them at www.balmorals-solicitors.co.uk.
