Is this usual, or is he just going to blow me off?

I'm going to the cinema with a friend of a friend, I've met him a few times but this will be our first time alone just the two of us.

He's working today until 6, and has about a 45 minute drive home - he won't agree on a time for the cinema as he doesn't know when he will be back - so you think he's being genuine? Or do you think he's trying to worm his way out of it?

People do that? I've never once agreed on a film and time before going, unless I was only going to watch a particular film!
I knew there were a few films on with showings after 8 so we agreed to meet then, but then got there and neither of us were too bothered on any of the showings so blew it off and went to a bar just around the corner!

I think this may be one of those moments where their internet makes you realise that behaviour you consider borderline psychopathic is normal for other people...

wontletmesignin · 17/11/2013 11:00

Woohoo pleased you had a good time! :-)

Joysmum · 17/11/2013 11:05

Well, if I'd arranged to go to the cinema I'd know what was worth watching and the screening times. I'm suspect alittlestranger was just lightheartedly ribbing you a little on that.

So glad you met up and are impressed enough with one another for a second date. Good luck

I wasn't being funny, that's jus not what we do! Weird how people do simple things differently.

Thanks!!

Clearly none of you were interested in actually watching a film. You just wanted to go out together. :)

Glad it worked out. :)

SantiagoToots · 17/11/2013 11:31

So he poo-pooed your film suggestions and instead got you drunk and fucked you? Wink

Mum2Fergus · 17/11/2013 11:36

That'll be the last you hear from him then!

Mosman · 17/11/2013 11:40

Oh dear I hope this ends well

dopeysheep · 17/11/2013 11:43

Grin Grin Santiago!

Pretty much what I was thinking but you put it so well!

eslteacher · 17/11/2013 11:45

Sometimes I go to the cinema to see a certain film and we arrange a showing time beforehand. Other times friends and I just mooch along to the cinema whenever to see whatever's on at a convenient time and halfway interesting. So I don't think you are weird Wish upon.

Hope things continue to go well!

Wishuponastar011 · 17/11/2013 12:23

I think if anything it was the other way round Santiago!

He messes you about over the cinema and you reward him with a fuck Blush

starfishmummy · 18/11/2013 08:55

Oh, the classic "make her think it was her idea" school of seduction fucking

NoArmaniNoPunani · 18/11/2013 09:00

Why are people being so hard on the OP? It's perfectly ok for a woman to want a no strings fuck.

notablob · 18/11/2013 09:04

YY NoArmarni. This is 2013, people.

rwepi · 18/11/2013 09:22

I think some people here are showing their age!

Think hard and remember back to when going to the cinema was just somewhere to go/suggest because you wanted to spend the evening with someone - the actual film wasn't that important. Remember?

Now, after 20+ years of marriage, yes on the rare occasions we go to the cinema it will be because we really want to see a specific film and we will have probably booked the tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

In the early days though, it was perfectly usual for us just to turn up and see what was on.

Glad you had a good time OP.
