Just that, really. The police are very evasive. Does anyone have any experience or advice??

When do you think he moved into the area? Have you looked at the electoral roll?

Bollockeyes · 03/11/2013 20:45

Its a bit complicated...I'm not purposly trying to be evasive...it's just that the circumstances are so weird I would probably get accused of trolling. The place where I suspect they are living is a residential unit, therefore I doubt that individual people would be named on the electrol roll, would they??

No, they wouldn't.

Are you afraid of bumping into him? I can understand that if you are.

Bollockeyes · 03/11/2013 20:50

Yes. I'm afraid for my kids more rhan anything.

Was the abuse ever reported/prosecuted i.e. is he a known offender? The police won't usuall hand out private details unless you have a connection with an existing investigation or conviction. There's the risk of reprisals. Some forces are allowing people to check up on new partners but it's not universal.

Even in a residential unit I'd have thought individuals would be named on the electoral roll.

ImperialBlether · 03/11/2013 20:58

Ohh that made me shudder, knowing it's a woman.

CogitoErgoSometimes · 03/11/2013 20:59

The internet makes it relatively easy to trace individuals these days. Aside from the police, what have you tried?

Bollockeyes · 03/11/2013 21:03

Yes. She got 3 years. I do have a connection...she's my mother. She was well known to social services when I was a child. She was convicted of rape, and child neglect

I've scoured the internet, called up the place where she's rumoured to be...silly cow has changed her name numerous times so I can't even be sure what name she's using now!! I'm just,so sick of running

I think the police should help you with this. You poor thing, having a mother like that.

Anjou · 03/11/2013 21:10

I'm sorry you've been through such an awful time, OP. This must be a worry for you. I'm afraid I don't have any useful advice. I didn't want to read & run. I'm sure someone with helpful info will be along soon.

CogitoErgoSometimes · 03/11/2013 21:11

If there's a conviction for sexual offences then I'm pretty sure you should have been kept informed by the probation service. If the police aren't being helpful and your searches aren't coming up with anything, you might get further if you hire a lawyer.

Bollockeyes · 03/11/2013 21:17

A lawyer may be the next step...thanks. Tbh I think I'm rather lucky...I've had a fantastic role model in her, as she taught me how NOT to treat my kids.
