Need advice on DSS (and girlfriend) potentially moving back home

It looks like my DSS and his GF may lose their home soon. No fault of their own, it's connected to the business they're running and it's looking like things are rapidly going up the spout Sad

They are late teens/early 20s. His GF is very stressed out, we had a long conversation earlier this week. They both work incredibly hard but his GF in particular is finding things really difficult. I'm really worried about her.

I want to offer for them to move in with me and DP if they do lose their home.

I just need advice from people who have had grown up kids (plus partners!) move back home really. I'm looking forward to it and worrying about it in equal measure.

Some indirect experience here. They might turn you down, of course. Moving back with parents is never an attractive option once you've been independent. If they were to move in I'd suggest a combination of ground rules and compromise. Ground rules on things like financial contributions & household chores (especially cooking which can be a flashpoint for some reason).... and compromise on the rest. Would also suggest some kind of time-limit to the arrangement for them to get their own place rather than leaving it totally open-ended. Finally, revisit everything on a regular basis with family meetings. My friend in a similar situation found that last one acted as a pressure-valve and prevented resentment building up. Good luck
