Harrowing stuff (and definitely triggering). Even the sounds of these mens voices made me feel sick. Far too much 'me me me' from several of them (particularly the guy - I forget his name - who said at the DV sessions he went to he was fed up of having to repeat what he had done and wanted it dropped as he'd admitted to it).

I also don't think it's as simplistic as 'men do this because its how they grew up' which was implied. That's just a cop-out. Also far too many excuses - bad day at work, retirement etc. Only one man willing to say it was because he was 'an arsehole', and even then its an easy thing for a skilled abuser to say.

Shame there wasn't more emphasis on emotional abuse but interesting listening.

I found this a really interesting talk about how DV is a men's issue, rather than something just for women to think about.

It's by the wonderful Jackson Katz who does lots of research in USA.
