Just that really. I happen to like chicken noodle soup. It has taken me years to perfect the recipe. And then the BUGGER eats it all. It was meant to be for lunch but he ate it all for breakfast. He needs leaving, doesn't he?

Put the recipe in front of him, and don't let him sleep until he's made it, correctly. Grin The supermarkets are still open, so he can start off by buying the right ingredients.

Mmm, I fancy some chicken noodle soup now. Grin

Run fast, run far.

Wuldric · 28/09/2013 18:00

I wouldn't mind but he made a big bowl of porridge for himself this morning. 'Good' I thought, as he topped it with a jar of honey. So then, while I am doing the Sainsbury's run, he eats a litre of chicken noodle soup!!!

I need to leave him, don't I?

For breakfast? Without being il? Shocking. I would like the recipe too.

beaglesaresweet · 28/09/2013 18:02

there's nothing like MN, is there? Smile

ArtisanLentilWeaver · 28/09/2013 18:02

I would dose him for worms then LTB.

BillyBanter · 28/09/2013 18:03

I have some failed chicken soup in the fridge from monday that I'm too scared to take out. You can have that if you like, with my best wishes.

Wuldric · 28/09/2013 18:05

Oh DH will polish it off. Send it over.

TheArmadillo · 28/09/2013 18:28

If I tell you he's a bastard will you share the recipe?

Cos if so YANBU and he's a bastard.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 28/09/2013 18:29

good god. a big bowl of porridge, loads of honey and a litre of soup? Has he got worms? Grin

My husband's the same. The swine eats thousands of calories at me and doesn't put a pound on while I add half a stone if I accidentally look at the recipe pages in the womans weekly...

LetsGoCena · 28/09/2013 18:36

YANBU and could you please post the recipe!

Lweji · 28/09/2013 18:44

Yes you should.

Really? A litre? Shock

Wuldric · 29/09/2013 02:31

Yes really. A litre. He has hollow legs. He actually looked hurt when I challenged this behaviour.

You lot have no sympathy. Anyway here is the recipe. Apologies for the instructions being for imbeciles but it is cut and pasted out of my recipe file and therefore for the kids to use:

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1350 ml of chicken stock. Ideally you need to make this from fresh but if you are cheating, this is 3 x ¾ pints or 3 cubes’ worth. See recipe for fresh chicken stock because it is much much better with fresh stock.
  2. 2 chicken breasts or 4 chicken thighs - whatever is in the fridge
  3. 1 heaped teaspoon of fresh chopped ginger (DO NOT EVER USE GINGER POWDER OR PUREE)
  4. 1 clove garlic finely chopped (DO NOT EVER USE GARLIC POWDER OR PUREE)
  5. Soy sauce
  6. 5/6 spring onions
  7. 1 chilli (DO NOT EVER USE CHILLI POWDER OR PUREE)
  8. Fresh basil, chopped
  9. 1 or 2 carrots – chopped into batons
  10. 200g cabbage
  11. 50g noodles – being one noodle nest - don't use fresh noodles as they taste greasy and slippery - use dried

DIRECTIONS (this takes 30 mins but most of the time the chicken is simmering so actually only takes 10 mins)

  1. Pour the stock into a pan and add the chicken, ginger and garlic. Bring to the boil and then reduce the head, then cover and simmer for 20 minutes until the chicken is cooked. DO NOT FORGET TO COVER otherwise the stock reduces and you lose the liquid.
  2. Remove the chicken to a board and shred using two forks. Return to the stock with the spring onions, cabbage, carrots, chilli, basil and soy sauce.
  3. Simmer for 5 minutes, covered. DO NOT FORGET TO COVER. This ensures that the cabbage and carrots are cooked and the other ingredients have a chance to flavour the soup.
  4. Add the noodles and cook for 3 or 4 minutes. Serve with extra soy sauce for sprinkling

For eagle eyed MNers who will note that I made more than 1 litre, this is because I had a portion before reserving it in the fridge for lunch.

The BASTARD. I am still so cross.

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/09/2013 04:13

Naughty. You specify fresh garlic, chili and ginger but not absolutely fresh chicken stock every time. He should LTB.

Xenadog · 29/09/2013 04:26

MY DP drank my hot chocolate that I made the other night when I returned from visiting a friend. It was the only full fat milk we had so I couldn't make any more. I was ready to LTB then too!

I say make more soup but lace it full of laxatives and leave it in the fridge. Sit back and enjoy the forthcoming show! Grin

Contrarian78 · 30/09/2013 11:36

Your husband is a Narc bully and Emotionally Abusive. You should definitely LTB. This would be a delabreaker for me. Sorry.

This sounds so worth making fresh stock for.

LTB, twice.
