Living with a chronic moaning minny

NC'd obvs.

Dh is a total moaning minny Sad He moans about anything and everything. He's isn't depressed, it's just the way he is. His father was the same.

He is also a chronic fusspot. Ds2 is picking up on these habits and mannerisms.

I am so fed up with it. My nickname for him is mary elizabeth fannybold blot. I just made that up. It represents my utter disgust at having to live with a moaning old biddy masquerading as a man.

He is also a hypochondriac and doesn't really like going out. I have ask him to take ds out to swimming or wherever. He constantly procrastinates as well.

I'm married to an old woman HmmSadHmm

Does he have certain well-worn moany phrases that you can think of a bright, chirpy answer to? I remember when DCs moaned 'its not fair' , their grandad would say 'its not raining either' and move on! 'Each to their own' is another useful closing phrase to stop someone moaning about people. Bit exhausting though, constantly having to counter someone's negativity. How old is he?

He's 53 but I think he's probably been like this all his life ifyswim. His family are quite jumpy and fussy over stuff and his dad was a chronic hypochondriacal moaner Sad

I am taking antidepressants which do help me and I feel okay in myself but sometimes I get so sick and tired of it. I have lost respect for him and find myself daydreaming and having romantic thoughts about things I make up in my mind. I do it just to escape really. I want a real man not this fanny.

My ex was this way, I'm still scarred by him eight years later after the split. Moaned non stop. No fun, didn't want to go out or away at weekends, spoiled everything.

Stupid bastard.

You cannot change him, sorry x

Why is he an OLD WOMAN? Why use your own gender as a derogatory term?

Twice in the last couple of weeks at work I've pulled up 2 male colleagues for using this term. The first time I went for his jugular and said it wasn't appropriate or funny. The second time I said "Do you mean old as in wise, and woman as in the superior sex?"

My mum was an old woman. Worth her weight in gold.

Anyway, back to your problem. Disengage, ignore and sort yourself out. (LTB)
