Recommendations for good self help book- controlling relationships

Can anyone recommend a good easy to read self help book. Have just come out of a 7 yr relationship. My husband is very controlling, not in your typical way. He wasn't possessive, jealous or stopped me from going anywhere but more emotionally controlling. I kicked him out in the end 2 wks ago in order to maintain some level of self respect, but am really struggling with the decision. I am completely messed up. Been referred for counselling but am all over the place mentally and emotionally. Such a long story but I know that it is the right decision for me and the dc's. I just need some help now to strengthen my resolve.

TIA

Read the resources in the first post of the support thread for those in emotionally abusive (EA) relationships.

I recommend you enroll in the Freedom Programme - they have a workbook available online which will surely also help you.

A book like "Why does he do that" will help you understand that it wasn't you, it was him, and "Getting free" helps you work through the aftermath of leaving.

Congratulations on getting out! You can be proud of yourself.
