my relationship is dying. Has been for a while. After yet another horrid argument I have decided in my head to leave. With my daughter. I just don't know how to .
I work part time and earn £650 pcm. This is not enough for rent/bills/food etc - can anyone tell me if I would get any benefit to help with rent costs??
I feel so low and desperately sad about all this as I know how badly it will affect our daughter....

First, your STBX should pay for your DD's maintenance costs.

Not sure about benefits at this time, but that is what CAB is for. You can also ring your local council and ask for help.

Do you have anyone you could stay with for a while?

Housing benefit is there for anyone earning below a certain level a week i think its about 200 quid so you may qualify. If you long you local council housing dept thy will advise you. You will alsobbe eligible for tax credits etc which you should.already get so ring them as they may be able to help you out further.

Good luck

There's plenty of financial help available for accommodation and other living costs for parents. Doing some research can make you feel more reassured. Your local Housing Authority, CAB, CSA etc. If you are married, talk to a solicitor. Splitting up - provided you handle it maturely - may not be as traumatic for your DD as you currently think. What is certainly damaging for her is living in a home where Mum and Dad are having 'horrid arguments'. That's not a nice way to grow up. Good luck

Should have added. Run your details through the www.turn2us.org.uk Benefits Checker as if you were already separated. You may be surprised at how much is on offer.
