Thinking of leaving? See a solicitor NOW

Not sure if everyone knows this - legal aid is being withdrawn from family law disputes from 1st April, except where there is firm evidence of domestic violence.

If you're thinking of leaving and you're likely to need legal aid, you must get to a solicitor NOW.

I'm not a solicitor and I'm not touting for business. I don't think solicitors are always necessary. But if you are likely to need one, PLEASE DO NOT MISS OUT ON YOUR CHANCE.

Can I check on my sister's behalf - is this for the whole of the UK or just England? My sister is currently embarking on leaving her abusive husband - she lives in Northern Ireland. When I mentioned this to her she said she didn't think it was the case in N.Ireland but wasn't sure.

I think it's just England and Wales, but can anyone else confirm?

Is it not already too late? I thought by the time an appt is made, all paperwork is sorted, etc, the 1st will have been and gone

Might depend on a solicitor, but I think it's still possible to beat the clock. One week to go!

Sorry, I meant it might depend on the solicitor whether they can process your claim in time.
