Relationship breakdown- hand holding needed

He has been emotionally abusive, he stays out late with no phone contact/switched off, he hates my mum, left me alone with our child on my birthday.

Tonight no contact. Same old. I know it's over, I know I'll be better off. It just hurts so, so much. My family are not close by. I have no one to go to. What do I do? How will I manage alone?

Sorry I sound so pathetic but I'm just broken.

I know it's easy to say, but I'm sure you will be ok Smile

It's a lot harder to be in a relationship that's not working and suffer emotionally, than get out of it and try to move on. None of us like to leave a long term partner, especially when I child is involved, but I'm sure they would rather see mummy happy.

Hope you sort it all out hugs

Thank you. He's home now. Shouting at me.

Hi Bona
I am 2 weeks post split and I too felt numb initially. That passes

I am starting to relax and enjoy the total abscence of stress and rows and tension...I used to lie awake at night waiting for him to finally come home, but pretend to be asleep so that he wouldnt start on me because he would be drunk.

Im passing on the great advice given here to me...be gentle with yourself, remember to eat and just focus on today.

People who have been through this tell me that it gets better. I can honestly say that 2 weeks on I dont feel any worse. Good luck xx

Handholding here. I think maybe you will find that you did most of it anyway, and once the numbness wears off, you will have more energy to cope. Agree that you could contact Gingerbread as a first step. Otherwise be gentle on yourself, it will take a bit of time.

Thank you all. I'm getting on with things, I'm like a robot.

Goodenuffmum- how are you today?

Hi Bona
I'm keeping busy. It stops me thinking too much.

How are you getting through the weekend?

Downatheart · 17/03/2013 02:01

Hope you are ok. You are very brave. I myself haven't took the step to separate the yet but I will. I worry that my spouse will feel low as you do now. I send hugs your way and just know you are not alone. Loosing a partner is hard. Keep telling yourself it's not your fault. You are a strong person and this experience will make you stronger x

Hey everyone. Well he didn't go!

He said he would but hasn't mentioned it since. Is just stomping around and sleeping in the spare room. Confused
