Does anyone else's husband or partner have no common sense what so ever?

Oh yes lol DP is very academic and very intelligent, but sometimes even the simplest of tasks cannot make it through his decision making process ...

flubba · 13/02/2013 21:46

Yes! Absolutely. Very intelligent and clever. No fecking common sense whatsoever. It's a bit of a running joke amongst my family and friends, but it's soooooooooo infuriating to live with.

Why do you ask?

Ha cross post mum2fergus :o

Hmmm.

At the PhD centre I attended many years ago, we post grad women used to have a regular laugh about all the blokes who enjoyed cultivating this convenient image. Funny how the women didn't .

when I was doing my PhD my (now) DH used to joke that the longer you stayed in academia the less common sense you had, to the point that you started to forget everyday practical skills the more degrees you had.

He based his theory on the fact that all the Professors had slip on shoes as clearly they had forgotten how to ties laces Hmm

I am the one with no common sense in my relationship. Have got better as I've got older but I'm just not a naturally practical person. I'm an academic sort, I would happily read and write all day long but I have been known to make a pot of tea without putting the tea bags in!

Just hoping I wasn't alone. Sometimes all I can do is laugh at what he does

Well it's either laugh or cry, so I guess laugh is a good option ;)
