I have 2 children off sick with hacking coughs, temps etc and then yesterday I started to get that throbbing ear thing that mean "oh oh" ear infection. then yesterday evening I got migraine, I don't usually get them. but felt totally crap after and this morning. this morning DH got up and went to work, to which I was a bit Shock about. sick kids when you are sick is rubbish. i then was like well he has to go etc i will just have to get on with it, but then there was no milk and bread etc which means i would have to go to the shop in the pissing rain. don't want to take my sick self out in the rain let alone the kids. happily DH came home and dropped some bread etc off. apologised for not taking the day off but he couldn't because there were so many people off sick. he had to leave right away and as he was here I started to feel like I was getting another migraine to which he said hope you feel better soon and left...... am I being sick and moody and UR to think I don't care who is sick at work we are sick at home and need you or is he right and work is more important? very grumpy, sick, headachey person.

Sorry you're feeling so poorly, especially when your DC are too.

I think your DH done what he could, under the circumstances. He did come back with essentials so you don't need to go out & he apologised for not being able to stay, so I'd be inclined to be thankful for the fact that he has done what he can to make it a little easier for you.

I'd make it a snuggly duvet day with the DC and ask your DH to take over when he comes in from work.

Get well soon

Are you all tucked up in bed vegging out together? Really, beyond dosing yourselves up with painkillers, staying warm and drinking plenty of fluids, there's probably not a lot he could do to improve things if he'd stayed home.

dequoisagitil · 20/12/2012 11:48

I think you have to suck it up, tbh. He brought you the bread etc and is acting responsibly towards his work by going in.

What would happen if he gets ill too and he's already taken days sick to look after you guys?

know it's awful to be sick and trying to look after sick kids, but just do the minimum and he can let you get to bed early tonight. Make sure he brings home any medicine you need Smile.

I know and he took dd to school which is my job and is going to pick her up. so I should be grateful for that but I cant seem to muster. I suppose it will have something to do with if he gets sick to which is likely since we all have it or have had it I will look after him and make sure he is ok etc get him what he needs. but I have to look after the kids and myself and the baby. I pretty much know I am being a cow but cant seem to shift it, I loathe being sick. He obviously was thinking about us hence the trip back knowing that I would not be able to go out. and yeah when he gets home he will take over I just need to relax about it and think happy unmigrainey thoughts.

I don't think you're being a cow, just feeling a little sorry for yourself and quite rightly so, however, he's been a sweetheart really.

He has taken your daughter to school and will do pickup.
He has come back with essentials so you don't need to go out.
He has apologised he can't stay.
He will take over when he gets home to let you rest.

That's 4 more things than a LOT of partners would ever do, many men I know would simply have gone to work as normal, end of. You have a sweetie there, a keeper, I hope you know that.

Hope you all get better soon.
