Long story short, im sitting in a hotel room on my own in the middle of no where. Had a works do tonight, dh said he wanted come and then proceeded to get drunk in the bar, I left him to it and enjoyed my night. Came bed at 1 expecting him be passed out in bed but he's not here. The car still is but I have no keys for it or money. Ive been wandering country lanes but no sign. He has form for this sort of behavior, I feel absolutely devastated, feel so ashamed but I know im going have to call the police

Good luck, Holiday. Think about yourself and what you want for the rest of your life. Your children will be fine if they are loved and you're happy x

You don't have to decide anything immediately. Give yourself the time you need. Have you tried Al-Anon for some support (for YOU)?

Why did you phone the police? It's not there problem if your oh was drunk and you couldn't find him surely?

Sounds like an idiot and you are better off without him. Do you have any friends you could stay with?

Anxiety is far more convenient and easier to admit to that alcohol addiction. Plus it can be conveniently remedied with medication. My father is a recovering alcoholic (15 yrs sober) and always tells me it is not the amount someone drinks, but the effect it has on their behaviour.

Not every alcoholic is sleeping under a park bench clutching a brown paper bag (yet). He needs help.
