dp is lying on the sofa next to the computer, snoring his effin head off.

It absolutly enrages me. he can't help it, I know he can't help it, but the sound bugs me like nothing on this planet.

I'll go to bed soon, and lie there for hours, listening to that horrible noise, feeling my whole body clench every time he breathes in.

I know nobody can do anything, btw, just needed to get that off my chest.

I kick mine and get him to roll over. Grin

Usually works. Or else, I try and get my breathing into the same rythym, deep and slow breathing aids sleep, and gives me something to focus on. Don't ever remember feeling annoyed after doing that, which I guess, must mean it works! Grin

Pruni · 09/04/2006 22:25

I'm in the same boat.
It makes me so irrationally angry, yet I know it's not his fault. Somehow that doesn't mean anything in the middle of the night though.
I have found that earplugs help no end, at least in getting off to sleep.

SaintGeorge · 09/04/2006 22:25

Betterware, Snore Stop.

Little plastic thing to put up his nostrils - or shove really hard if very annoyed Grin

Sold loads to customers before giving in and buying one for DH.

Bloody marvellous! It actually works. Have had it a week and have had 7 wonderful silent nights.

jenniferjuniper · 09/04/2006 22:26

ooh i know just how you feel .My dp starts snoring the minute he lies on his back .Its just so annoying isnt it

colditz · 09/04/2006 22:27

It causes the anger, I think, because by being asleep, they are keeping you awake. I'm sure that's what it is.

It's pure resentment, in my case. I resent that he is sleeping like a baby while I seethe.

I used to use earplugs until I had ds, then I worried I wouldn't here ds, and haven't worn them since.

OP posts:
colditz · 09/04/2006 22:28

*hear ds.

Has he been drinking? My husband snores if he's had a particular beer... It drives me crazy and I feel like putting a pillow over his head sometimes..

Can you leave him downstairs when you go to bed.. I used to go and get my hubby if he's fallen asleep down stairs.. now I don't bother [evil grin] last night he came to bed at 2am.. I had the whole bed to myself.. lovely...

jenniferjuniper · 09/04/2006 22:31

i make dp sleep on the couch if ever he has been the pub as the snoring is ten times worse then - and he`s like a lead weight to try and move then

bubble99 · 09/04/2006 22:31

I've just read this to Mr Bubble and he says he's got bruises on one side of his body where I kick or punch him during the night to make him turn onto his side.

I truly hate him at times during the night. Blush Totally irrational but very real. I find it impossible to get back to sleep when he's snoring. Angry

colditz · 09/04/2006 22:35

I know about the irrational hatred Blush

It makes me want to pinch him with my fingernails BlushBlushBlush

OP posts:
bubble99 · 09/04/2006 22:37

Pinch away. Grin Blush

Mr Bubble always snores, with or without alcohol, I'm doomed to a life of 3am husband hating. Sad

jenniferjuniper · 09/04/2006 22:37

the worst of it is that dp will wake up the next morning and claim to have had a terrible nights sleepAngry
Hes not the one trying to sleep next to a grunting warthog !!

WestCountryLass · 09/04/2006 22:39

My Dh is a chronic snorer and it gets under my skin and I too could murder him.

The only answer is ear plugs.

SaintGeorge · 09/04/2006 22:39

jenniferjuniper - if he is still feeling tired despite sleeping all night, check out that he is just snoring and not suffering from sleep apnoea.
It can be very dangerous.

Honestly ladies, this gadget works. And just think of the satisfaction of shoving it....

colditz · 09/04/2006 22:42

Oh yes, dp tries that one.

"You kept me awake all night, you kept shoving me!"

OP posts:
jenniferjuniper · 09/04/2006 22:43

Thanks SaintGeorge - maybe he should get checked .He works nights so his sleeping pattern is all over the place really !

bubble99 · 09/04/2006 22:44

Oh yes, JJ! The 'that was a terrible night's sleep' comment does it every time. Angry

I'll have been woken up at 4am ish by the baby, got him back to sleep, and then kept awake by the snoring. You can hear it building up too, can't you??.......
You've done the kicking thing to get him to turn over, he turns, he stops, he turns slightly onto his back just as you're finally dropping off.......AND IT STARTS AGAIN. Angry Angry

GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRR! Angry

There, I feel a bit better now. Smile

jenniferjuniper · 09/04/2006 22:46

dp on nights for the next 4 nights so at least i have peace for a little while Grin

colditz · 09/04/2006 22:48

Yes, , dp rolls over, toddler wakes up (probably woken by snoring), Colditz settles toddler, goes back to bed, snoring crescendos steadily until Colditz thinks she is going to have an apoplectic fit....

Continue Ad Nauseum...

Made worse by me being 40 + 3 pregnant...so easily enraged, and ultra tired.

OP posts:
jenniferjuniper · 09/04/2006 22:48

yes Bubble99 - its like you are holding your breath as the snoring appears to stop ... but then no -next comes some huge snorting noise !!!

jenniferjuniper · 09/04/2006 22:49

colditz - when i was pregnant with dd my waters broke whilst i was trying to shove dp over in the bed onto his side Shock

bubble99 · 09/04/2006 22:57

Well, JJ, then I hope you made him sleep in the wet patch!!

I'm sure it's genetic. My FIL has an even worse snoring thing going on. Like father like son. Can I say 'GGGGGRRRRR' again? Smile

jenniferjuniper · 09/04/2006 23:00

yes i did Bubble - i went to the hospital and left him floundering round with towels in a panic !
say Grrrrrr all you like .It seems like a common and highly annoying problem for alot of us !

chipmonkey · 10/04/2006 00:02

My dh and his brothers snore like the bejaysus! BIL's wife made him go to a sleep-apnoea clinic and now he uses a C-Pap every night.
