do you have a tiny mental breakdown every time someone is attracted to you?

Even if you find it flattering at first? or this my own special, private neurosis?

Confused

too soon for a needy, attention seeking bump?

Hmm - do you mean when someone just makes it clear they think you're attractive? Or when they're pursuing you to get into a relationship with them? Or what?

Bit of each I suppose. Always so grateful and surprised then freaked out and decompensating everywhere.

Just say it's normal!

Ok, I'll admit I do this a bit. Eg a bloke my friend knows was hitting on me a bit a few months back and when he discovered I'd been married 10 years he made it clear to me that if I were single he'd ask me out (he was a little tipsy at the time). I laughed about it at the time and though on the outside I didn't show it, in my head I spent a good few weeks obsessing about it, thinking what if.... etc - I was all the things you mentioned - surprised, flattered, freaked out by how much of a turn on it was that someone fancied me etc. The guy in question objectively would be a really good catch - gorgeous, intelligent, fun, wealthy, lots in common with me (I found myself doing that thing you do where you fill in the gaps about them and think that because you are compatible in a few areas, you will be compatible in those other areas you don't know about!) I started dissecting my life and finding fault with aspects of my current situation which aren't ideal. But I got myself back on an even keel by thinking of all the things I don't know about him and assuming the worst!! Grin

ahhh thank you

sometimes you just need to not be The Only One!

I can't even talk to this man, we have barely any language in common, a miniature holiday fling that was technically a sexual disaster so I have to invent most of his personality. All I know about him is his physique, oh my God, what a body.

etc
