I can honestly say i have never had a best friend. I have lots of friends through work and school mums. Would love to have a bestie.
Is there anyone else like me?

There's no need to be so sniffy about it trills
Personally, I find I have one the most rewarding relationships of my life with my 'BFF', as you so scathingly put it.
And as I said before, we both have partners, children, other friends, hobbies, close families etc. Its not like our friendship comes at the cost of others.
She is one of the few people I know without doubt has my back no matter what and she knows me better than I know myself.
And no, we're not eight. Hmm

It's interesting reading this thread that while there are some people whose bf has been only a positive thing in their lives, there is also a number (myself included) who have had a major, traumatic falling-out with a best friend.

Having a bf isn't always a healthy thing it seems and these intense friendships can implode.

That's true, tired. It must be incredibly difficult when that happens.
But just because some marriages end in divorce doesn't devalue a happy and supportive marriage does it?
Is this not a similar thing?

I'm sorry Anitamaneater.

I have one but we have little in common now. It's an honorary title.
