DH seems depressed

A bit of background, I'm due in two months and have 2 yr old son. Dh Didn't enjoy first couple of months of first baby, but after that was fine. Doesn't always pull his weight but clearly loves ds and is good with him. Dh was very unkeen on having no 2 but I thought he would get used to idea. He went on sex strike for 4 months when I came off the pill, but we got there in the end. As no 2 draws near he seems increasingly depressed, he looks very sad when he thinks I'm not watching and seems to withdraw a lot into his study etc. Not really being himself. The other night he said he didn't agree life was definitely better with kids. I am worried, what should I do?

Did he actually plan for DC2 as well as you or was the pregnancy an "accident".
Also,do you think he may be depressed and therefore should go to the GP,or do you think he is probably slightly dreading the birth?

I guess that's the question - I don't think he's depressed as he is too normal/functional and sometimes he seems quite happy. birth wasn't an accident, I think Dc2 was more my idea but he definately knew we were trying - hence it took a while to get him to warm to the idea. I think its kind of reasonable to dread the birth, in some ways so do i (LOL), what i cant work out is if he dreads it because he doesnt like family life or just because he remembers how tough the first few months were last time.

Send him to gp. If you genuinely thnk he clinically depressed.

But you can't make him happy or less worried he has to express what his fears are and you can work our practical solutions. And tell him yes it will be hard but you know from last time everything gets better with time.

Get lots of support around if you can afford it employ help to make life easier with newborn and toddler. Or enlist family.

Coz if he really can't hack it as a family man then you have to focus on you and dc .
