Backstory. I have been divorced for a couple of years. No dates. No interest in dates. Never fancy anyone. Went to a party two nights ago and took a fancy to someone. Most extraordinary.

He is someone I do very occasion work for (but had only ever communicated via email.)

We chatted. I asked him lots of questions because I am kind of gauche and hopeless. He (I think) felt a bit got at but was also adorably cute and friendly.

So, can I send a "lovely to meet you, great working for you" kind of email? I mean, kind of pointless I know but blah blah...I told you it was teenagerish.

If I didn't fancy him, I would have done it by now - in a networking way.

now you're just being greedy...... Grin

Or you could use it. Text back "OK, Mr Cute Guy, I will allow you to take me out, but I want a hand-written poem first. I have standards, you know."

Nice idea. That"d surprise him.
