Hello I am getting an uncontested amicable divorce and have spoken to 2 solicitors all quoting 1000 for the service. I have also seen online services being advertised for 300 at the most for the same. Has anyone used this service and is it advisable. I am concerned about the price disparity meaning this will be a poorer service. Any previous experiences in this area or insight into this is welcome. Thanks for reading

You can print out the papers yourself and send them to the court, if it is not contested and you are not fighting over custody, cost something like £350, you do not need to involve anyone else.

The form is a divorce/ separation petition

If it's uncontested and amicable, it's cheaper to do it yourself.

Click on Government, citizens and rights here: www.direct.gov.uk and go to Divorce, separation and relationship breakdowns

Post on the Legal board if you should need any help when filling out the forms.

i used quickiedivorce.com as i am too lazy to work it all out with the dates and stuff, but it was pretty cheap, not much more than the actual cost of the courts and the threw in a free will :)

Court officers/personnel are not allowed to dispense advice per se but IME they are extremely knowledgeable and helpful Wink Don't hestate to call them if you need reassurance that you've completed forms properly or want to know that your documents have been received etc.
