Nice Gestures...

In the true spirit of valentines day...rather than all this phoney present/flower/chocolate buying what about all those little romantic gestures that we women appreciate. Thinking of making a list for my DH (he can make one too). This is what I've got so far - need some more inspiration:

Breakfast or even cup of tea in bed on a weekend (when it's my turn to have a lie in)
Nice shoulder massage of an evening when tired.
Offering to get some shopping occasionally (not when just happen to be going to shops anyway).

Cant think of any more at the moment....

Flowers - when it's not valentines day.
Getting the children breakfasted & dressed when it's your turn for a lie-in.
Organising the children to make something for you as a surprise.
Running a bath for you with lots of bubbles (in the bath & in the champagne glass).
Organising the babysitter and whisking you off for a surprise romantic lunch/dinner.

DS has done the first (OK dh paid, but ds insists on buying me flowers). DH not done any of the others thought except the third - which I asked for, or demanded and only the once despite repeated requests.

The phrase 'Take as long as you want...' applied to anything. Makes it all ten times better.

It's so boring and dull, but I really like it when dp does a big clean, that really makes me feel nice and cared for.

I mentioned the bath thing the other day (seen it on a few things recently) and DH said - you're perfectly capable of running it yourself arent you and that he would probably make it too hot or something. Just doesnt get it!!

Actually arranging the baby sitter and night out is a good one - i always end up doing that!

Well it's Valentines day and my DH made a lovely gesture.

Despite everything that's going on in our lives (we are renovating, he's out of work etc). He went out with the kids and bought me a bottle of perfume which I got this morning.

Even better,

he arrived at my work this afternoon with a beautiful bunch of flowers and the kids in tow to wish me a Happy Valentines day.

I was very touched. We have been together 13 years next month.

I really wanted that Shakespeare Retold DVD for Chrsitmas, but it came out Boxing day. DH ordered it especially hid it and didn't tell a soul (I guess too easily). ahhhh.
