Divorce and solicitor free half hour appointment.

I have already had a free half hour appointment with a solicitor last year. TBH he was crap with regards to his advice.
Can I see a different solicitor and still get half hour free with him, or do I just get this free appointment once, no matter which solicitor I use?
In other words, have I had my free session and that's it, no more?
Also, as my last solicitor was such an idiot, should I be looking for a specific type of solicitor?

No, it isn't funded by any central process. It's a thing most firms will do as a loss leader. The same firm won't give you another free half hour but another will.

You want a family specialist, preferably Collaborative law trained.

Post on the legal board for recommendations and also for advice.

Alternatively, visit www.womensaid.org.uk to find your nearest branch, give them a call during usual office hours, and ask them to recommend solicitors who specialise in divorce and family law and who offer a free half hour initial consultation.

I found my solicitor through the Resolution website, which was recommended in a post somewhere on MN, and she is good.

Btw I specifically looked for a woman sol who had been practising for several decades.

Thanks, will look on that site.
