Nothing.

If you were mumsy and dull she'd be banging on that she wished you weren't.

jesuswhatnext · 06/04/2012 16:56

a 14 year old will pick on anything to beat its mother with at times, i shouldnt worry over much, next week she will hate you for doing/not doing something else! Smile

BelleDameSansMerci · 06/04/2012 17:02

"Tough beans, Baby." That's what I'd say. [bugrin]

oldqueenie · 06/04/2012 17:36

say nothing. just laugh.

izzyizin · 06/04/2012 17:38

Tell your teen that according to some schools of thought/religions we choose our parents before we embark on an incarnation on the earth plane, and they've only got themselves to blame for choosing a non-domestic goddess as their dm [bugrin]

startail · 06/04/2012 17:43

Buy a shorter skirt!

FashionEaster · 06/04/2012 17:44

tell her you've enrolled in her sixth form

Tranquilidade · 06/04/2012 17:46

At the risk of being boringly mumsy about this. I have noticed with my DCs that they often want me to be mumsy when they are feeling insecure or sorry for themselves and need cosseting for some reason. Is there something going on that might make your teen want to be looked after?

IAmBooyhoo · 06/04/2012 17:50

you say "but it's so much fun watching you cringe when i be 'cool'" Grin

Tiago · 06/04/2012 17:53

Raise and eyebrow and laugh.

BackforGood · 06/04/2012 17:54

Just remind her that itis your duty, as a parent, to embarrass her for all her teenage years. Grin

hathorinareddress · 06/04/2012 18:01

Laugh. A lot.

tribpot · 06/04/2012 18:18

Point out you could be Madonna?

DinahMoHum · 06/04/2012 19:06

ask her wtf mumsy means?

CogitoErgoSometimes · 06/04/2012 19:52

Tell her you hate her too?... See how she likes it?

ByAThread · 06/04/2012 20:26

Reiterate to her that she needs to accept that everyone is an individual and you're not going to conform.

JustHecate · 06/04/2012 21:57

what does mumsy mean? What specific things does she want you to do?

jalopy · 06/04/2012 22:01

I'm with Tranquil on this. Sounds like your teenager is feeling insecure. Joking aside, I wouldn't ignore it.

Just remember that whatever you do say will be (taken down and used in evidence) repeated back to you when you make a comment on HER behaviour at any time in the future
