It made me cry.
I'm a rgular poster, this is my name change alter ego, when things get bad. Luckily not this bad, not physical but emotional.
My wonderful DD1 (17) introduced me to the female singer, possibly knowing I would eventually work my way round to this song, as i do with singers I like.
How fantastic of a young modern set of recording artists to support Refuge like this, and highlight the horror of Domestic Abuse for the whole family.Sad

And it's made me think very clearly about what is no longer acceptable behavior from DH or myself at home. I've started to no longer rise to the bait, (with the help of a wonderful therapist who understands emotional abuse, it's causes and it's effects.) No more arguing within earshot of the DC's. My iPod has become my best friend, a selection of carefully chosen songs to give me strength to not react to the button pushing. To stay strong and not become the wailing banshee who is then called crazy. And slowly I'm seeing some small but significant changes.

Guess what I'm trying to say is seek help from the sources available. In all honesty my DH is not malicious, his problems come from his own insecurities, from years of rebelling against a controlling father, and from a horrendous couple of years that we have just been through.
