I don't think you're being unreasonable. It's possible that your DP needs to have things explained to him a bit more, but he does sound like a bit of an arse.

my hubby is the same, with the making himself scrambled egg thing. mine would think thats perfectly ok too. its just the way mine is i have decided. his tiny brain is not capable of considering other peoples feelings very often.

say he treads mud in onto the carpet.... he didnt do it on purpose, it just did not register in his tiny mind that it even happened. he is totally oblivious to everyone else most of the time...
