DV ex broke in to my house

My life has been turned upside down. My DV ex broke in to my house on satuday, locked me in and beat me up. I had to jump out of the window after about an hour (I managed to distract him) but he then chased me up the street and dragged me in a headlock back towards the house. 3 seperate neighbours called the police, but he has not yet been found as he legged it as soon as he realised the police were on the way. I really thought I was going to die.

I have had to leave my home, quit my job and my son is having to change schools. I am still in complete shock.

Oh my that's awful!! Hope you are ok?

Tortington · 21/02/2012 08:02

sorry you had to go through this

LilacWaltz · 21/02/2012 08:03

2 murders a week at hands of an ex or current partner. So 1 in 5 of all murders? Shocking

Op..... Dear lord, that's horrific! So so glad you are ok. They will get him,I'm sure they will

Charliefarlie1192 · 21/02/2012 08:11

I am safe, but frightened. He is nowhere to be found. I am black and blue too, my worst injury being my private parts which are severly bruised and swollen due to what I think may have been a kick. Also got to take a urine sample in to docs today and been passing blood due to blows to the kidneys. I hope they find him I am not sleeping or eating and still have loads of things to sort out, namely getting my things out of my house and finding somewhere else to live!

So sorry for this.

Never mind what you are losing, make sure you and your ds are safe.

I do hope the police catch him.

Could his family be hiding him?

Charliefarlie1192 · 21/02/2012 08:25

they have raided his mums, brothers and ex girlfirends (mother of children) every day since saturday so goodness knows where he is

They'll get him. DV is a top priority for the police these days. Hope you are ok.

garlicfrother · 21/02/2012 08:30

God, how awful for you. You must be terribly shocked and traumatised. Are there people looking after you?

izzyizin · 21/02/2012 11:43

I wish it was, PrimaBallerina, but I suspect that the only reason that the police are giving this incidence of domestic violence priority is because the attack was witnessed by several of the OP's neighbours who are, hopefully, willing to testify in a Court of Law and because she has sustained visible injuries which can be documented, photographed, and used in evidence when the perpetrator is bought to account.

I hope you are getting all the support you need from the police domestic violence unit and that occupation and non-molestation Orders have been, or are in the process of, being applied for so that you can return to your home, Charlie.
