Doc told me that I need to be circumcised. Anyone been through this? Women's opinions?

I've got no choice, and I've accepted it, though I'm obviously not thrilled. Perhaps unusually, I'm less scared about the operation than I'm worried about what women are going to make of 'things' afterwards. Do women find it offputting? I'm concerned it'll make functioning worse, if you gather my meaning.

I'm trying not to think of the pain! Wish me luck!

(PM me if this is too personal; I'm sorry if you didn't wish to read this over your breakfast cereal...)

Had this done for medical reasons myself a few years back. I can't say it really bothers me but do sometimes wonder what sex would be like if I was still in one piece (was early teens at the time). My wife never mentions it and to be honest can't really see how it can have much of an influence on sex from her perspective. Enjoy the feeling of straightforward hygiene!

There are surgical alternatives to circumcision in which the majority of the foreskin is preserved, I have no idea if it is available in the UK but it's worth investigating - I've never understood why the whole foreskin is removed, it's probably the cheapest easiest option, as was the butchery of full hysterectomy.
