Friend just rang, her and her husband had words today. He said to her he was going to put her through the window if she didn't shut up.

I want you to give your honest opinion as she thinks it's jokes and these things are just said. I'm directing her to mumsnet for some sage advice, when she can.

I want to link her to this flash poll.

Well I suppose it's up to her how she feels about it and whether she thinks it was a joke or a real threat - personally don't think I'd have found it a very funny joke though.

Don't think it's a 'normal' way for a couple to talk to each other though, at least I'd like to think not!

Not sure what I'd do if DP said something like this, as it would be so out of character it's difficult to imagine.

well, imho... im sorry but i dont see this as an acceptable way to speak to people, especially as it was said during an argument. i personally would be worrying about my safety having been spoken to in such a vile way. this is not how normal people speak to eachother. she may well love him very much, but this isnt how i was brought up, and its not a way that i am bringing my children up, and its people who speak to others in this way that i steer well clear of, for safety sake. my advice.. watch you back and best of luck
