Would you want an apology from OW?

Would you want to know that she deeply regretted her actions, would never do anything to cause you pain again, if it was heartfelt and sincere and gave you no details other than what a mistake it was, how bad it was and that everything you imagined would happen when you knew the man, did? Sent with no other intent than to give comfort and hopefully a sense of relief?

No. I wouldn't ever want to hear from or about the OW again.

If you came anywhere near me after having an affair with my DP I'd fly at you.

Leave well alone you've done enough damage. Sad

anniemosity · 16/06/2011 12:24

I foolishly, unwittingly became the OW and I am sorry for any hurt I may have caused. However, I would never apologise to her, both ExCreep and his DxW behaviours towards me were absolutely vile, undignified and very unfair. It's all in the past now and I just hope our paths never cross again.

Aislingorla · 16/06/2011 14:08

You are right to stay away annie, he was and always will be a creep but maybe his DXW was so hurt by the affair that she behaved badly towards you.

Renaissance227 · 16/06/2011 14:55

As the injured part why would you give a f**k whether or not the OW was sorry etc?!
No, no, no.

meltedchocolate · 16/06/2011 15:08

No, I don't think any woman who has been an OW for more than a week or so, is ever TRULY sorry. Sorry annie, I just don't. There will always be the 'BUT this was my (sickening) side of the story' (which you provided annie) - no sympathy whatsoever.

catwalker · 16/06/2011 16:38

I'd like an apology - purely so I could tell her where to shove it.

CoteDAzur · 16/06/2011 16:41

So you were the OW, then this man cheated on you with another OW, and now you are considering apologizing to his first wife because you realized how much it hurts?

lemonandhoney · 16/06/2011 22:13

I got a beautifully crafted apology that left me absolutely cold. As if a few glib phrases on a screen could make up for the devastati

lemonandhoney · 16/06/2011 22:14

Whoops...devastation her actions had created. I feel the same about my ex's apologies. Words are easy. As I told them both, I will judge them by their actions in the future.

satanrejectedmysoul · 17/06/2011 11:39

Every OW is different! But only they will ever understand their reasons for their actions and how they try to justify them.

After breaking up with his OW my XP had apologised to me by phone for what he had put me through (he and OW had been very cruel and had trashed our house after using it one night). I was having none of it and I was determined to get over him.

That same evening I was in a nightclub with some family and friends when I met OW for the very first time. She came over to me while I was stood at the bar and asked if she could have a word with me on my own. I assumed she wanted to tell me her side of the story.

She took me to a quiet area and then broke a beer bottle over my head. I was covered in blood and had to be taken to casualty to have my wounds stapled. Apparently, that was my punishment for leaving a note to XP on my mantlepiece that she had read. I had written 'Dear XP, Keep that whore out of my house. Yours, Satan.'

It took me years to get over this. So yes, I would have preferred an apology.

expatinscotland · 17/06/2011 11:46

No. And I'd not accept one from either of them.
